Sketch, Please! returns with another batch of listener-submitted sketches performed by volunteers. And this one will take you to outer space and back to the supermarket.

Danni Payne is a musical theatre performer who trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Danni has dabbled in comedy, but so far has made a living by lying and singing at people. Credits include, Newsrevue, Burelli Sister in The Rat Pack Live, Dolly in A Tribute to the Blues Brothers at the Edinburgh Fringe and Divina in Broke Britannia (Bridewell Theatre). Lewis Cook is a sketch comedian as part of Cook and Davies. Cook and Davies were Finalists at the Welsh unsigned Stand Up Awards, So You Think You Write Funny and Semi Finalists at the Laughing Horse New Comedy Act of The Year. He is also the writer of Good Little Boy, a one-act play that premiered at The Wardrobe Theatre.

CAST

James Witt trained in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting after he had completed his degree in English and Drama and Theatre Arts, University of Birmingham. He’s a founding member of Music Box : The Improvised Comedy Musical which has been performing regularly since 2009. Other long term projects include Pirates! (Improv Adventures on the High Seas) and This Is Soap (The Improvised Soap) which he also directed. He also performs regularly with Hoopla Impro and Story Kitchen Impro‘s Theatresports! London troupe.  Other theatre credits include Unmythable, Newsrevue and Shakespeare for Breakfast.

Alexandra Burton recently performed in two plays at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Fourth Monkey Theatre Company and is a member of the Actor’s Club with Director’s Cut Theatre Company. She trained at The BRIT School, Guildhall and is a member of The National Youth Theatre. She is also working on a short film Missing Shade of Blue directed by Sami Abdul- Razzak. Mike Lash is an actor, an open-mic stand-up comedian and improviser with Talking Dog, Kanga & Roo and Story Kitchen Impro. As an actor he trained with LAMDA, Brunel and City Lit. Alex Sievewright is a comedian and actor that has been part of various groups but is perhaps best known as the co-host of The LIL Show, where he and host Talal Karkouti interview and improvise with a different improv group every week on K2KRadio.com. He is also a part of the new improvised podcast series Numbskull Island.

Sophia Lorenti has lived and performed in numerous countries including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bulgaria and South Africa. Sophia has worked in a variety of acting mediums varying from theatre and film to improvisation and radio. She is currently completing her final year at Drama Studio London. Sophia is also a regular improviser for the new sensation Story Kitchen Impro.

Rajesh Patel is an improviser that has trained with The Nursery and The School of Laughter (where he was also a part of their house team). He has attended workshops with Susan Harrison, Mark Phoenix and Patti Styles.

Reading through Episodes 1-3 – DEAD DRUNK DETECTIVE

This Saturday, a merry of band misanthropes will perform Dead Drunk Detective episodes 1 to 3 in front of a live audience at The Actor’s Temple on Warren Street. And in preparation for this, Podcast Adventures hosted a delightful sit-down read through of the marvellous scripts written by Brendan Way.

There was pizza. There were drinks. The cast that we have assembled is such a wonderful bunch of goofballs, each one as eager to make each other laugh as to help each other get laughs. we can honestly say that whatever the podcast turns in to in the end, the process is going to be made so very enjoyable by this lovely bunch.
